Raising: market researchers forecast the second place in the smartphone segment for Microsoft

The coalition with the Finnish mobile phone manufacturer Nokia, is to help Microsoft to come on the second place among the smartphone platforms. By the year 2015, the Windows operating system to can keep even a 20.9 percent market share, which Microsoft would overtake Apple's iPhone and the BlackBerry Smartphones from RIM. The findings come from the market research firm IDC. The forecasts of the market research institute come from Tuesday, the 29.3.2011.

The Smartphone market is currently thorough the boom which is noticeable from the sales figures. The market research company IDC had said an increase in sales volume of nearly 50 percent, thus 450 million units sold. When Microsoft launched his new mobile operating system Windows phone 7 on the market in autumn 2010, came the operating system together with the compatible smartphones, on a market share of over three percent. In February 2011, however, the Finnish mobile phone manufacturers Nokia alongside Microsoft went in an Alliance. Both producers would have to lose out in the race against Nokia/Microsoft.
The Finnish carrier Nokia has long dominated the Smartphone market with the in-house operating system Symbian. However, Android is launched within a few months to the top.
